Bad experience with an insulation company?

My names Harry, and i have been around insulation for about 12 years, and the industry has changed a lot in that time.

While working for an insulation install company recently, I saw that the insulation companies are all sales focused, getting as many meters of insulation out as possible. All the services that have always been offered, such as pipe lagging of hot water pipes, hot water cylinder wraps and moisture barriers. This insulation company would only sell a moisture barrier if a customer specifically asked for it.

The standard of moisture barrier is the worst part, the sheets of polythene were roughly taped to the piles, pins put in willy nilly not taped over, and the sheets slightly overlapping with no tape sealing them together. All this for $8 per meter. A fair price for a decent install but not for a quick whip around, cant see it as a proper solution to a damp home.
